1. Introduction
Jobsift is an independent software project that develops browser-based tools, software, analytics and related services designed to help users discover, organise, filter and understand employment opportunities and job-market information.
This Privacy Policy explains how Jobsift may collect, access, use, store, disclose and otherwise process information when you use the Jobsift browser extension, websites, applications, support channels, research products, analytics services and other products or services that refer to this Privacy Policy.
In this Privacy Policy:
- “Jobsift”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Jobsift project and the persons responsible for developing and operating it.
- “Extension” means the Jobsift Chrome browser extension.
- “Services” means the Extension and any Jobsift websites, applications, accounts, dashboards, subscriptions, support channels, research products, analytics products and related services that refer to this Privacy Policy.
- “User” and “you” refer to any individual or organisation that accesses or uses the Services.
This Privacy Policy describes both Jobsift’s current practices and the categories of processing that may apply if Jobsift introduces additional Services. A reference to a possible future feature does not mean that the feature is currently active.
Back to top2. Current Jobsift Beta
The current Jobsift beta is a Chrome extension designed to help users review LinkedIn Jobs search results by identifying and optionally hiding promoted, reposted and certain high-applicant job postings on the currently loaded results page.
The current beta:
- Supports LinkedIn Jobs only.
- Does not require a Jobsift account.
- Does not use a Jobsift backend server.
- Does not use an external artificial-intelligence service.
- Does not upload job titles, company names, job descriptions, scan results or LinkedIn search URLs to Jobsift.
- Does not currently operate cloud synchronisation, billing, subscriptions, advertising, market-intelligence uploads or account-based services.
- Opens an external feedback form only when the user deliberately selects the feedback function.
All ordinary job-page scanning, classification, filtering, organisation and display processing performed by the current beta takes place within the user’s browser.

6. Browser Processing and Storage
6.1 Local job-page processing
All ordinary job-page scanning, classification, filtering, organisation and display processing performed by the current Jobsift beta takes place within the user’s browser.
During ordinary scanning and filtering, the current beta does not transmit job titles, company names, job descriptions, scan results, selected listings, search keywords or LinkedIn search URLs to Jobsift, a Jobsift backend server, an analytics provider, an artificial-intelligence provider or an advertising platform.
6.2 Chrome local storage
Jobsift uses Chrome local extension storage for runtime information such as:
- Scan status
- Current-page summary counts
- Result-page state
- Pagination state
- Manual refresh state
- Content-script operational state
A locally stored result-page identifier may include LinkedIn search keywords, search location, pagination and selected LinkedIn filter parameters.
6.3 Chrome synchronised storage
Jobsift uses Chrome synchronised extension storage for user preferences such as:
- Whether Jobsift is enabled
- Selected filtering options
- Automatic filtering preferences
- Display preferences
- Privacy and consent settings
Where the user has enabled Chrome Sync, Google Chrome may synchronise these preferences between Chrome browsers in which the user is signed in.
Jobsift does not independently receive these synchronised preferences through a Jobsift server.

Jobsift will not use identifiable individual Extension browsing activity or job-search history to create unrelated commercial market-intelligence products.
Chrome extension-accessed information will not be commercialised merely because it has been aggregated, anonymised, de-identified or transformed.

Jobsift automatically provides the form with:
- The Jobsift extension version

Jobsift does not automatically provide Tally with:
- Job titles

- Summary counts
- Search keywords
- Search location
- The complete LinkedIn URL
- Selected job identifiers
- Screenshots
The user may separately provide information through the Tally form, including feedback text or contact details requested by the form.
Tally processes submitted information according to its own terms and privacy practices.

If Jobsift is involved in a financing, incorporation, acquisition, restructuring, reorganisation or transfer of all or part of the project, information actually held by Jobsift may be disclosed in connection with the proposed or completed transaction.
A corporate transaction does not permit Jobsift to retrieve information that remains locally on a user’s device.
Where platform rules or applicable law require explicit prior consent for a transfer, Jobsift will seek that consent before completing the transfer.
Back to top11. Advertising and Commercialisation
Jobsift may introduce contextual advertisements, sponsorships, subscription offers, employer-sponsored content, promoted content or non-personalised promotional messages in future online Services.

- Market reports
- Benchmarks
- Commercial products
However, the Chrome Web Store Limited Use restrictions continue to apply to information obtained through Extension permissions, including aggregated, anonymised, de-identified and derived information.

Back to top16. International Processing
Where Jobsift uses online service providers, information may be processed in jurisdictions outside the user’s place of residence.
Where required, Jobsift will use appropriate contractual, organisational or technical safeguards for international processing.
